Automobiles in Germany's City Discovered Marked with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Authorities reported they were notified by a individual who noticed a vehicle in Hanau marked with reddish fluid

Around 50 automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to police.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were defaced, sometimes with swastikas, they announced in a official communication.

Law enforcement report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a individual discovered that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.

The substance had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they added.

Officers then discovered multiple other marked cars and house walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Police report initial examinations show the fluid was probably human blood.

"There is still no lead as to where it came from; officials are currently not informed of any physical harm in association with the incident," they stated.

Municipal representatives stated they were working "to unravel the incident" and have asked to the community for details.

A senior political figure commented the vandalism rendered him stunned and required to be solved quickly.

"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, recalling the killing of nine victims by a gunman aiming at residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
