Assassin's Creed Reveals Unexpected Attack on Titan Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre partnership that challenges conventional expectations, the game developer has announced an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, including free additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Disclosed
According to the official release, "An unusual confrontation leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where rumors of forbidden practices and terrifying metamorphoses echo through the darkness." The storyline features a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a clandestine cult.
The questline focuses on "peculiar experiments and a monstrous foe" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Transformations
The preview highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, presumably the captive, changing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Extra Content
Players who finish the adventure will acquire an unique katana together with multiple artifacts hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-inspired attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Addition
This release also brings the game's newest free story addition, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic abilities: Naoe reveals a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns.
